WHAT IS THIS ABOUT

Most people think Feng Shui starts inside the home.

It doesn’t.

The entryway — all of it, from the street in — is where energy either finds its way to you or gets stuck before it ever arrives. The overgrown path. The doorbell that doesn’t work. The porch light that burned out six months ago. These aren’t just maintenance items. In Feng Shui, they’re signals.

Your home is literally mirroring what’s happening in your life.

  • A relationship that’s stalled.

  • A career that’s at a standstill.

  • Health issues that could use some attention.

According to Feng Shui, the entry is almost always where to look first — because when we shift what’s happening out front, things start moving again. Sometimes faster than you’d expect.

If something in your life feels stuck,
your entryway is the best starting place.
Even if you rarely use it.
(Though that might change after this workshop.)

This workshop looks at the entryway from two angles — the energy it’s carrying and the design moves that can change it. Whether Feng Shui is completely new to you, something you’ve been curious about, or a practice you’ve studied for years, there’s something here for you. Whatever your starting point, we’ll meet you where you are.

You’ll leave our 60 minutes together seeing your own entrance differently. And with specific things to implement once you get home.

WHAT TO EXPECT

One focused hour. Twenty minutes of content — specific, practical, immediately applicable. The rest is Q&A, where we look at your actual space together or answer questions that come up for you.

I invite you to snap a photo of your entryway on your phone before you come. (You might just be glad you did — because a picture can be worth 1,000 words.) You might have a question come up or listen to the reflections of others. Either way, you’ll recieve a bounty of inspiring new ideas of just how you can bring greater flow and ease into your environment.

Our time together also promises to be just a genuinely good afternoon — spent outside, among things that grow, with people who care about the same things you do. Your kind of people. Your kind of gentle afternoon.

(Plus, I'll bring a large pitcher of Tokyo Mugicha — a roasted barley tea, served cold. I first tried it at a tiny café in upstate New York last year. It was so unexpectedly good that I went back for a second serving the next day. I think you're going to love it.)

THE SETTING

Dearness Gardens

Huntersville, NC · Est. 1995 · Family Owned

A place built around the belief that what surrounds you is never just decoration — it can be emotionally nourishing and it’s also how you show the world a little more of who you are. They've spent 30 years curating the palette. We’re going to help you clarify what you’re already painting (or want to paint) on your home canvas.

Set on three acres of a 1920s farmstead in the heart of downtown Huntersville, Dearness Gardens unfolds as you walk through it. Garden and pond vignettes tucked throughout the grounds show you how plants live together — how scale works, how texture plays, how a single container or a strand of wind chimes can entirely change the feeling of a space.

The staff here are passionate, deeply knowledgeable, and — if the reviews are any indication — these are the kind of people who might just change the way you think about what’s possible just outside your door.

It’s the kind of place that I always leave inspired and refreshed. And if you don’t yet know of Dearness Gardens, consider this your invitation to find a new local sweet spot.

Our time together is a space to see your home — and maybe your life — a little more clearly. These 60 minutes are your invitation to spend an afternoon with friends (and, yes, you should invite one to join you!) surrounded by one of the most beautiful and inspiring outdoor settings in the Lake Norman area.

Years ago, a coach I worked with told me:

“The minute you schedule a session, the work has already begun.
It doesn’t start when we sit down together.
It starts the moment you commit.”

And I trust the same is true with this workshop.

Reserve your spot for June 6, and know that positive shifts are being be put in motion. Now.

And we look forward to seeing you in the gardens soon!
